ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN – SINGAPORE

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Worker to join our team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical installation, wiring, testing, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems in construction and commercial projects.

The candidate should have good technical knowledge, leadership skills and the ability to supervise electrical workers on-site.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Carry out electrical installation, wiring, testing and maintenance work at construction and project sites.
2. Prepare, read and interpret Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical drawings and technical specifications.
3. Install and maintain electrical distribution boards (DBs) up to 300 amps, within the applicable licensing and supervision requirements.
4. Perform electrical testing and commissioning to ensure systems operate safely and correctly.
5. Troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
6. Supervise and coordinate electricians and electrical workers to complete assigned tasks.
7. Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical equipment and systems.
8. Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable Singapore electrical safety standards and regulations.
9. Inspect electrical wiring, cables, switches, distribution boards and other electrical components.
10. Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers and contractors to ensure smooth project operations.
11. Maintain accurate records of electrical inspections, testing, maintenance and repair work.
12. Ensure all workers follow workplace safety procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
13. Complete assigned electrical work according to project schedules and quality requirements.
14. Perform other electrical-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements & Qualifications

1. Possess a valid Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) licence issued by Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA), appropriate to the electrical work and responsibilities.
2. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical installation, maintenance or electrical contracting.
3. Good knowledge of Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical wiring and testing procedures.
4. Experience in installing and maintaining distribution boards up to 300 amps.
5. Able to perform electrical testing, commissioning and fault troubleshooting.
6. Good understanding of Singapore electrical safety regulations and installation requirements.
7. Experience supervising electrical workers and managing site activities.
8. Strong technical knowledge, leadership and problem-solving skills.
9. Good communication and teamwork skills.
10. Able to work independently, follow project schedules and work under pressure.
11. Responsible, hardworking and committed to workplace safety and quality.
